This sterling silver necklace has been handcrafted by southside of Glasgow based Suzi Nicol Designs using a salt casting technique.
Due to the nature of the technique no two pieces are ever the same, making them completely unique.
This nugget is a lovely, chunky weight.
Salt casting involves silver being melted to its liquid state and then poured into a container of rock salt. This quick change in temperature solidifies the metal instantly and creates unique organic forms around the salt. The salt is then scrubbed away, leaving a permanent and interesting piece of silver.
The shape is then turned into wearable and statement pieces of jewellery!
