'Calanais' Standing Stone A3 Print
'Calanais' A3 digital print reproduction of original screen print by illustrator and printmaker Abbie Lois.
The standing stones of Calanais on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides are seeped in folklore.
One such story is that they were once giants, turned to stone for refusing to convert from their pagan ways.
Another story is that the giants would be out every night having a ceilidh, but would have to hide once the sun rose or they be turned into stone.
The stones we see today are said to be the result a ceilidh that lasted too long!
