This pin badge features the iconic neon sign above the entrance to the Barrowland Market and Ballroom in the East End of Glasgow.

The Barrowland Market, known locally as the Barras, was created by Maggie and James McIver on land they purchased in 1921, and it quickly grew into one of the largest indoor markets in Britain.

In the 1930s, a function room was added which later became the Barrowland Ballroom. More recently, it has become a legendary music venue, which is famous for its atmosphere and is one of Glasgow’s favourite spots for live music.

The current sign was created in 1985 and is believed to be the largest sign of its kind in the UK.

This recycled metal pin badge features a high quality print of this image, which is then covered in a protective acrylic dome.

On the back is a single pin with a butterfly clasp to keep it securely in place. The badge is 4cm by 3cm in size and comes mounted on a Glasgow Icons card backing in its own clear cellophane envelope.
